Can i use food color powder for coloring fondant or it must be liquid ?

i want also the uncooked easy recipe of fondant %26amp; and how i put the color powder on it to make it all the same colorCan i use food color powder for coloring fondant or it must be liquid ?
always use the liquid, other wise you cant judge the ratio properly ,it is to hit and miss to use powder ,I used to make gallons of colours,for bakery`s etc. every batch has different tones, the fondant,you buy is already prepared, you have to warm it ,and if to thick thin i t with a bit of margarine,you add the colour a drop at a time , as you stir to get the colour you require,Can i use food color powder for coloring fondant or it must be liquid ?
